Happy Fall!
I had to start with this photo. I love how the guy at the top is raising his arms up in victory. At fall camp, we had a chant competition. This team, obviously, won.
I can’t stop marveling at the differences between the end of August and the end of September. Ministry has truly begun to blossom; this shift in ministry matches our new season. I am excited to share all that is happening.
At the end of August, I really didn’t have a feel for what my small group would look like. I had no idea the people God would bring. The first two weeks of August were packed with meeting girls, but you never know who will stick. I was nervous about my small group because as I met girls on campus, many were not able to come to my time. I had to give that desire of having an impressive, larger group to God. My mindset had to switch to being faithful with whatever I was given. But in typical God-fashion, He provided more than enough girls to join our group.
My weeks are now taken up by the seven bible studies I am doing. Each one bringing a different set of questions and life background. For me, there is nothing more fun than studying the Bible with someone. You get to enter into the work God has already been doing. Be praying for those studies and that they will better know Jesus. That this study can be the beginning of a dynamic relationship with Jesus. Pray I can rely on God and share His wisdom. Pray they will experience Godly friendship.
My last update is that FOCUS just came back from our Fall camp. It was a sweet weekend with our ministry. The camp was more like a burst because it was Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. We talked about making decisions and we had students share. I was in charge of a big game tournament. I think one of my spiritual gifts is helping people have fun. Besides my task, my small group had a lot of time to hang out and get to know each other better.
I have a short story to tell. We had a visitor come to my small group last week. Her name was Min. She came in and I pulled her aside to greet her. I told her that tonight we were starting off our time talking about our camp. I wanted her to know she was invited, but not to be pressured if she didn’t feel comfortable. She ended up coming to camp and she fit into our group so well. We are actually starting a Bible study this week and I’m excited to study with her.
Thank you so much for making this ministry possible.
